Working Women's Recipes

I've seen greeting cards made with printed papers, crocheted flowers and buttons. This is my first one.

They are easy to make, and oh SO wonderful to receive! Sometime it is necessary to protect a baby, or youngster, from a protection device. Such is the case with those nylon straps used to harness them into a car seat. For that matter, some of us need these covers, too.

This is my first pair and they became a gift to Carol Frost, a loving grandmother for her precious grandson.

See the spring grasses in the background? They were a very strong color motivator when I created these kitchen items.

I needed something to attach to my key-chain. Something big enough to slip through the metal ribs of a grocery cart so that I could have access to my keys without holding them. I saw this crocheted heart and decided it would work perfectly.

Here's a link to the Crochet 3D Heart pattern. Oh, one modification. I created a row 3A which is a single crochet in each single crochet of row 3. Doing that gives the two top mounds a bit more definition.

As you can see, I made five of them; each one better than the previous one. The last two have satin roses on them. Some of these will go to England with Paul and Thom to be used as little gifts for the family members. I will make extras to have ready for a quick pick-me-up gift for friends and family.

Jack Lennard will receive this for Christmas 2010. I hope he likes it. He and I have a 'turtle' thing in common. He lives in England with his Mum, Lynda Canning. This year Jack is determined to spend Christmas with us in California. I hope his wish comes true!

Jack's wish DID come true! They'll arrive on December 18th and we'll ALL have Christmas together! ;-))
